😊. I'm simply elated with the love and energy from this community of basketballers in Maroua
😍. Special thanks to Coach Maliki, a pillar and living legend of the growth of basketball in Cameroon 
🙌.I must admit I was quite anxious about my first trip to this town/region (making it the 10th of 10 regions of Cameroon that I've had the opportunity to visit). As you know, #BokoHaram has succeeded to reach this town with twin suicide bombings, and dozens of other kamikaze terrorist attacks in nearby towns. But thanks to the B.I.R, the National Army, the collabo with U.S Special Forces, the village vigilance committees and many more able, devoted and courageous citizens, the BH menace has been pushed as far away as possible from ethentering further into the country. I, for one, am immensely#thankful for that. We enjoy relative #peace and#security, because many are sacrificing their lives for us to live
🙏.Still, you know how fear creeps in on emotions... It erodes any rational thought, and makes you rely on feelings vs reasoning . So in the corner of my mind, I had "what if..." fears. But I had to speak out The Word to my mind, heart and spirit. Remind myself that I am not a slave to Fear. Fear is not from God. He commands us to be strong and courageous
💪. I asked God for increased assurance in His faithfulness. And now, I'm just enjoying it 
💃!It's impressive to see how resilient the people of this town are. You might hear #resilient a lot, but truly, it is the right word to describe how the people of Maroua and the Far North at large, have snapped back from horror, extreme violence, and disaster; and have continued living their lives with joy, simplicity, and so much love
😊 ! There is HOPE
