The 2 Ibrahims- young changemakers in the Far North of Cameroon

Two thumbs up for the relentless job these 2 Ibrahim do to propose #CVE alternatives to #BokoHaram's influence and pull on youth in the Far North region.

They inspired me so much today, with the examples of how they have sometimes put their lives on the line to go to remote zones aroung the borders of #Nigeria-Cameroon and #Chad-Cameroon to discuss with youth and work with village vigilance committees on ways to denounce #terrorist infiltrations and to detect suicibe-bombers.

Ibrahim Djagra, on my right, actually lives in Mora - one of the town that was struck less than a month ago by 4 kamikaze, suicide bomb attacks. Ibrahim thinks, breathes, and lives for #peace and #prosperity in his region and in this country. Among 1,000 Africans at the Young African Leaders Initiative #YALI Mandela Washington Fellows 2017 summit in Washington D.C., he was the only one whose story was highlighted as an example of community engagement to fight against the radicalization of youth in the world

Brahim Moussa, on my left, helps thousands of youth in the Far North learn basic ICT skills (computer literacy, Microsoft Office mastery, social media usage and management). He has collaborated with National institutions and international NGOs to empower more youth of the Northern regions of Cameroon to gain skills that will help them expand beyond their local knowledge

These two represent the potential and capacities of the youth of the Northern regions of Cameroon. Despite the heavy terrorist menace hovering over their heads every day, they keep trying to add their contribution to the development of their communities. #ThumbsUp
