Youth interfaith dialogue - peace and unity in Cameroon

When what you do during the day is in line with your life's goals and purpose, you thank God, and have a smile on your face whenever you go to work.
Planning, coordinating, and co-moderating this youth interfaith dialogue has been one of the highlights of my job this year.

The exchange and honest dialogue between Muslims, Christians of various denominations, and indigenous (Baka and Mbororo) people of Cameroon, has been refreshing and insightful, to say the least. Not only did we discuss misconceptions we have about each other, but more importantly we identified values and ideals that unite us as Cameroonians beyond all sorts of differences.

*The moment that marked me the most was the singing of the national anthem, together as one, and concluding with three prayers said respectively by a Muslim, Catholic, and Pentecostal.

Terrorists will not fool Cameroonian youth into believing we are too ethnically or religiously different to unite and fight for our nation. Little did they know, we are proud and jealous of our peace and unity.
